EHRA-PATHS: Coming to the End of an Impactful Journey

As the EHRA-PATHS project approaches the end of its 5.5 years journey, the consortium came together one last time in person for its Closure Reception during ESC Congress 2026 in Munich.

It was a special and meaningful occasion to reflect on everything achieved over the past years and to celebrate the collaboration, dedication and hard work that made the project a success. The project coordinator (Hein Heidbuchel – University of Antwerp) delivered a thoughtful speech, expressing sincere appreciation for the contributions of every partner and recognising the efforts of all those involved throughout the project. He remarked: “We had to convince ESC to venture into leading a European research project. The fact that EHRA-PATHS has been followed by many similar ESC-led projects indicates that what we did together is perceived as a leading example.”

Beyond the scientific achievements and project milestones, the reception was a reminder of the strong relationships, teamwork and shared commitment that have driven EHRA-PATHS forward from the very beginning.

As we move towards the project’s conclusion, we can look forward to the presentation of the prospective clinical trial results at EHRA 2027. The impact of EHRA-PATHS will continue to extend well beyond the project’s official end, supporting future guidance in cardiovascular care and innovation.

A big thank you to everyone who contributed to this journey.
